Disparate organizations, broken processes, an antiquated payroll processing system and redundant infrastructure led to inefficient and untimely payroll processing for the 60,000 US employees. TSI was selected from over a dozen consulting firms to assist this Chicago-based company.
The goal of the project was to analyze the payroll organizational structure, streamline and optimize the payroll processing function and define the performance metrics before defining the requirements, evaluating and selecting a new payroll system.
Examined existing payroll information systems, information requirements and operations. Analysis yielded recommendation to consolidate five payroll-processing centers into one centralized shared service center utilizing a single system.
The project resulted in the identification and implementation of organizational and process improvement-related tangible savings well over $1 million annually.
