Tools We Use

Continuous Improvement (CI) Methodology

Continuous Improvement is defined as an ongoing effort to improve products, processes, or services by reducing waste or increasing quality. It is a methodology, a mindset, and way of doing things. It is about improving the flow of processes, removing waste, satisfying constituents, developing and engaging staff, solving problems, and producing high-quality, repeatable results. However, in all industries, organizations change in response to people, technology, outside influences, leadership, the economy, pandemics, and the list goes on.

TSI’s CI tools and strategies are grounded in the following CI Methodology:

Step 1 – Plan: Plan ahead for change, analyze results, predict results

Step 2 – Do: Execute the plan, take small steps in controlled circumstances

Step 3 – Check: Study the results and verify outcomes

Step 4 – Act: Take action to standardize or improve the process

Process Improvement Methodology

Our Process Improvement approach and experience leverages our design thinking, re-engineering, lean, quality, and optimization skills. TSI’s Process improvement methodology follows a structured approach to define a process, analyze a predetermined scope of work of a process, and work to improve its performance. To accomplish improvement, we facilitate an iterative process that challenges the status quo and current activity surrounding processes, technology, norms, pattern, and people. The methodology consists of a process of forward-thinking action focused on understanding what is happening now in a process, understanding why it is happening in how it currently exists, and what is desired to happen in the future. With all of our process improvement engagements, TSI concludes with specific and detailed recommendations that we typically help to implement. In parallel, we define key performance indicators so we can truly, and objectively measure the Cost, Quality, Service, Speed, and Compliance performance measure or metrics.

TSI’s Process Improvement methodology consists of six main steps:

Step 1 Initiate the Project (Clarify Project Objectives and Outcomes)

Step 2 Define Organizational Context

Step 3 Define Current State Processes

Step 4 Analyze Current State & Technology Gap

Step 5 Define Future State Improved Processes

Step 6 Create a Recommended Action Plan and Implement Recommendations

Each training engagement utilizes our proprietary tools and techniques, combined with resident insight and best practices. Our expertise, built upon our unique approach, tools, and techniques, creates a customized solution that allows us to train individuals and organizations with the necessary toolkit to incorporate improvement practices into the fabric of their organization.
