Organizational Change Management Training

What is Organizational Change Management Training?

Organizational change management is not just an option to remain competitive and efficiently operational in today’s global climate of change, it is essential. Successful change occurs when organizations focus on, define, and institutionalize change to reflect missions, visions, culture, and organizational values. By effectively managing change in a world of constant disruption with demand for response and innovation, institutions can innovate and remain competitive to meet the needs and changing environment of the world around them.

Organizational change management training offers an opportunity for individuals and teams to learn strategies and tools to drive, support, and facilitate change for their organizations. Change can occur at many levels and can take shape using many tools and approaches and can be overwhelming yet exciting all at the same time! Whether focusing on people, process, policy, technology, or culture, change is inevitable. By strategically fostering and managing change, we train and mentor organizations to intentionally build strong foundations and implement the use of best practices and tools to navigate their most challenging enterprise, unit, program, and project-level change initiations.

Using a variety of tools and techniques, our training methodology engages individuals and teams to develop competencies in using change management tools. From a high-level introduction to change management, to a detailed, in depth dive, TSI customizes training and mentoring programs for each client.

Why Work With Us?

TSI fosters Organizational Change Management (OCM) in a very applied manner. Based on extensive research and best practices in OCM and refined by hundreds of projects, TSI has developed an entire methodology and pragmatic approach for organizational change management. This approach helps organizations manage change effectively so that client teams experience project success with minimum disruption.

Not only do we implement OCM strategies for our clients and organizations, TSI provides in-depth, hands on training and mentoring on OCM. Our experienced team combines formal education and training with over 25 years of experience with over 200 change-oriented projects. Our team has developed pragmatic, practical tools, strategies, and solutions to help “make change stick”. Ultimately, our approach and training engages the people side of change to help stimulate, and build sustainable change and meaningful relationships surrounding change initiatives.

Over the past 24 years, TSI has trained thousands of corporate and higher education employees to understand and excel in change management. This training enables TSI’s clients to develop their own capabilities and level of proficiency through customized, relevant training content using real-world, industry appropriate examples and cases.

What We Do

TSI strives to work with all of our clients be it at the executive, middle management, staff, or other participant level to develop a shared understanding and a clear path for training and learning practical tools and strategies. To best meet the needs, skills, and knowledge level of our clients, we customize our training to ensure the use of industry-relevant, practical content.

Our Organizational Change Management training and mentoring programs aim to:

  • Build understanding of organizational change management and the outcomes of positive, sustainable change management practices
  • Identify risks of failure when striving to change and strategies to strategically overcome commonly associated risks.
  • Provide strategies and examples of best practices to support the adoption of new mindsets, processes, technologies, and culture to successfully achieve goals for change.
  • Highlight the benefits of change management practices.
  • Develop methods to align people together in ways to maximize opportunities for change and deliver ongoing, sustainable success with organizational and cultural change.
  • Deliver a creative, innovative, and engaging training experience with real-world, practical content and examples.

Tools We Use

TSI’s training programs are grounded in TSI’s Organizational Change Management Methodology which is our customized approach to manage change. The methodology has had such great success that several of our clients have purchased and adopted the methodology across their own organizations.

The approach follows four main, ongoing and cyclical phases including:

Org. Change Management Approach
  • Plan & Discover: Initiates the project, establishes understanding of the project culture, people, goals, and objectives, and develops action plans
  • Do & Implement: Dives into assessment and analysis, identifies and contextualizes needs, goals, and areas for improvement, and initiates recommended actions for change
  • Check & Evaluate: Evaluates project progress, need for adjustment, engagement and feedback of participants, and determines effectiveness of the change initiatives
  • Act & Adjust: Responds to needed adjustments in the project or management plans with responsive planning and recommended action steps

The approach is not purely linear, therefore strategies for managing change enter and shift through the various phases continuously. As the approach cycles through the phases, it progresses through several levels from “getting started”, “digging deeper”, to “moving to transform”.

As illustrated by the diagram below, TSI has an extensive set of tools that facilitate the management of change to dramatically improve successful implementation of change with technology, process, people, and culture. These tools and strategies include:
