Never has competition for new students and retaining existing students been so critical to the viability of an institution. Changing influences in the world such as demographics, technology, industry and workforce needs, funding streams, competition, and the recent pandemic are forcing institutions to rethink and adapt enrollment and student experience services. Historically non-traditional student populations are rapidly becoming the new traditional student. 

In response to the vast changes facing higher education, institutions must be more intentional and strategic in pursuits of enrollment and positive student experiences. All institutions need a comprehensive, multidimensional approach to defining and executing strategies on recruiting, admissions, enrollment and student experience services, and retention to address increased educational options, competition for students, and need for holistic support services.

What We Do

TSI uses a variety of strategies to work with our clients to better identify, understand, and respond to their enrollment and student experience needs. These strategies include assessing and improving student life-cycle and enrollment services, evaluating services provided, leveraging and aligning data to impact enrollment management, assessing organizational culture, defining the student experience, and assessing and aligning services offered with student expectations.

Our team of expert consultants, who have experience studying, researching, and holding professional positions in higher education, are at your service to help target your university’s greatest needs, or even help assess what those needs might be. We strive to gain information about current and desired enrollment methods and processes and gather the experiences of both internal and external stakeholders and students. Our services target the entire enrollment life-cycle from recruitment, to admissions, financial aid, registration, and advising. Another approach is to help illuminate the student experience to focus operations and services about learning outcomes, curriculum design, student services and support, technology, university life, and the physical university environment to provide clarity about and improvements for how experiences are delivered.

Our team aims to help institutions determine their optimal target population, understand the experiences of their students (from recruitment through graduation), discover moments that matter to stakeholders, students, and staff, level set expectations for services and experiences, and uncover best practices for marketing to, attracting, and serving students. To do this, we will implement a variety of tools such as process improvement methodologies, change management, cultural change management, organizational and operational assessments, focus groups, constituent experience sessions, interviews, SWOT analysis, technology assessment, and institutional bench-marking among others.
